My most recent scrapbook art volume begins as a travel journal from a creatively inspiring adventure in Bali, Indonesia.

When I travel, I always learn directly from local artists for inspiration and cultural understanding.  As I journeyed  through Denpasar, Ubud, Lovina, Candidasa and Nusa Penida I learned from local artists at galleries and cultural events.  Travel guides at historical sites, temples and religious monuments shared a wealth of information and inspired my deep appreciation.  Balinese Hindu iconography like Barong, Rangda, art, dance, and costumes are celebrated through collage and acrylic paintings are intertwined with my photography.  Textiles, coins, flags, maps, brochures and other items I collected throughout Bali also enrich the pages of this scrapbook. 

I hope that this sketchbook can inspire others in their travel journaling and scrapbooking ideas.
